Accessibility statement

Prepared on 27 September 2026 by Scraiber GmbH.

Scraiber GmbH wants its websites and web application to be usable by everyone. This statement applies to:

  • the website scraiber.com
  • the web application app.scraiber.com, including the public pages sign-in, sign-up and /try
  • the organisation administration admin.scraiber.com

Conformance status

These websites are partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard or have not been assessed yet.

What we fixed

An automated check on 27 September 2026 found the following issues on scraiber.com, scraiber.com/for-business and the app pages sign-in, sign-up and /try. We have fixed them:

  • Grey secondary text, links on light grey panels and coloured status labels now have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast).
  • The status icons of the plan comparison on scraiber.com/for-business either have a text alternative or are hidden from screen readers where the text next to them says the same (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content).
  • The rewrite strength slider on /try has an accessible name and announces its value as text (WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value).
  • The icon-only links in the side rail of /try have accessible names (WCAG 2.4.4 Link Purpose, 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value).
  • The app pages sign-in, sign-up and /try have a main landmark, the navigation areas of scraiber.com have names, and headings on scraiber.com no longer skip a level.

A second run of the same automated check on the fixed pages found no WCAG 2.2 level A or AA violations. Automated rules find only part of all accessibility problems, so this does not mean full conformance.

Not yet assessed

The following parts have not been tested for accessibility, and we cannot state their conformance:

  • the signed-in editor (writing, suggestions from journal rewrites, real-time co-editing, assistant panel), library, account settings and the organisation administration
  • keyboard-only operation and screen reader use of the whole application, beyond the automated rules
  • text over images and gradients on scraiber.com, which the automated check marked for manual review
  • exported documents (Word, PDF, LaTeX) and downloadable reports

Content outside our control

Pages and components provided by third parties are not covered by this statement: the cookie consent banner (Termly), card payment (Stripe Checkout) and the sign-in pages of Google and ORCID.

How we assessed

  • Self-assessment by Scraiber GmbH. No third-party audit has been carried out.
  • Automated check with axe-core 4.13.0 (rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 level A and AA, plus best practices) at desktop (1366 px) and mobile (390 px) width.
  • Accessibility lint rules on every change: all four web front ends are checked in continuous integration with the Biome accessibility rules, for example alternative text, valid ARIA roles and properties, labels for form controls and no positive tab index.
